Burnt Oak Library Shines with Community Makeover

Burnt Oak Library in Barnet has unveiled its newly refreshed meeting rooms, thanks to an inspiring community effort lead by Quinn London and BOOST Barnet. Over two days, twelve Barnet residents transformed the library’s three meeting rooms into vibrant, welcoming spaces, turning a simple refurbishment into a memorable community event.

One participant reflected on the experience, saying, “Being part of this project was amazing. It felt great to contribute to something that will benefit our community. The library feels even more special now.” Another added, “The day was fantastic. The instructors made it enjoyable and engaging. It’s wonderful to see how our community came together to improve a local space.”

The workshop not only refreshed the library’s meeting rooms but also provided participants with valuable skills. With the cost of living high and many residents facing quotes of over a thousand pounds for basic repainting jobs, the chance to learn and contribute hands-on was especially appreciated. “This project gave me a chance to learn new skills and be part of something positive,” shared one participant. “It’s a relief to know I can now handle more DIY tasks myself.”

In addition to the volunteer work, Quinn London made a financial donation to ensure the refurbishment exceeded expectations with quality materials.

Michelle Tyre, Office Manager at BOOST Barnet, expressed her delight: “We’re thrilled with the outcome! This collaboration has not only enhanced our facilities but was fantastic for the community. It’s a great example of how teamwork can make a meaningful difference.”

Bianca Tia Mesuria, Social Value Manager at Quinn London, added, “The workshop was a fantastic success. It was inspiring to see the community come together with such enthusiasm. We’re proud of the results and the strong sense of ownership it has created.”
